I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
